We have one solo room at Tassoula that we sell for £439 per week at any time during May, June and September. It's a small (cosy!) double room and has a side sea view. First come, first served.

The week of May 28th is cheaper in order to give teachers a fighting chance of joining us as it's half term and flights can be REALLY expensive......

Price includes:

  • Your choice of accommodation
  • Being met at Preveza airport
  • An Introduction to Meditation and Mindfulness
  • 5 Guided Meditations
  • A walk through the cypress trees and olive groves, incorporating mindfulness practices
  • 3 sessions of about 30 minutes of mindfulness movement in the mornings per week (weather dependent)
  • Welcome Lunch – an opportunity to meet everyone officially and to book trips, massages and ask questions
  • Services of your Serenity Retreat Team in the UK
  • Some transfers (see note below)
  • Access to affordably priced massage therapies, including deep tissue, relaxing and facial massages, and reflexology
  • Evening out in Lefkada (dinner is paid for individually)
  • Trip out to a taverna in Ligia (dinner is paid for individually)
  • A trip to the waterfalls in Nidri for meditation
  • Sometimes life can feel a little bit overwhelming. We can listen if you would like us to.
Transfers
  • Free transfers by taxi are available to meet all Sunday flights scheduled to arrive before 3.30pm.  The latest bus arrival we can meet is 10pm (4.30pm from Athens).
  • There may be a wait between being met and being transferred.  Normally you'll leave directly, but in order to keep costs down we group some guests together.
  • The maximum waiting time is normally no more than an hour which happens infrequently but it DOES happen.  It depends on the vagaries of flight arrivals - some flights arrive early and some late.  If you want a guaranteed direct transfer there is an additional cost of £40 (this covers the transfer both ways).
  • 85% of arriving guests leave immediately - no waiting.  We just can't guarantee it!
  • Flights arriving after 15.30 or on any day other than Sunday will be subject to a £40 charge, reduced to £20 if there is more than one person sharing the late transfer.
  • We will get you back to the airport with plenty of time to check in.  Normally somewhere between 2 and 3 hours before your flight is due to depart.
  • Regardless of the time of your departure flight, rooms must be vacated at 10am on Sunday.  There will be somewhere to leave your cases, but we can't promise a shower.....!

Price does NOT include:

  • Flights (Find out about flights here)
  • Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner (apart from the welcome lunch)
  • Travel Insurance
  • Local Trips
  • Courses (although most are by donations)

Add your choice of course, more details are here (most weeks the courses are by donation and the most you'll pay will be £100).  Whether you do a course or not - there will be plenty of opportunity for sunbathing, reading, sleeping, knitting, chatting, shopping, eating .....

Eating Out

We find that the biggest concern for most travelling solo is eating alone in the evening. We have four organised meet ups, one of which is on the first evening (and none of which are compulsory!). Most of our guests end up eating together most evenings, although it's certainly not obligatory.  We lay the ground rules early on so that if you do chose to be by yourself then that's completely respected.  We never split the bill when we eat together either.  We only pay for what we have individually ordered - being considerate to each other's budgets.

Accommodation Overview

All the accommodations available to Serenity Retreat are within a five minute walk of each other. There are a couple of options available for breakfast at the local hotels, although buying in supplies of fresh fruit (it tastes amazing), local honey (the same with the amazingness) and Greek yoghurt seems to be the most popular option.

What time of year should you come?

It depends on your priorities. If you want real peace and quiet then May and late September - the compromise is that the weather is more unpredictable but never have we had a week without good sunbathing opportunities. Fewer tavernas are open in May and the last week of the season.

June and early September are best for weather (although nothing is guaranteed!), the compromise here is that we share the beaches and village with other holidaymakers (mostly Greeks and Italians). All the tavernas are open during these times too.

The last week of June is significantly busier than other weeks - please bear that in mind!

Wifi and TVs

We don't advertise these although some of the accommodations do have both.  We don't advertise them because the wifi is notoriously unreliable and the tv stations are in Greek (or the tvs don't work!).   The local cafes and tavernas all have more reliable wifi but we would strongly recommend coming with the intention of not using either, or at least limiting your normal use.

Tassoula Studios (we have 7 available)

Self catering studios directly on the beach. Really - on the beach. Nothing but fresh air between you and the sea. All with incredible sea views. Fantastic location on both ground and first floors.

Pana's Apartments (we have three available)

Self catering with separate kitchen/dining area in a more traditional style. They are also right on the beach REALLY, and all have seaviews and balconies. Run by the fabulous Panayiota who speaks no English but that doesn't stop her from chatting away with you!

Pana Living Area Pana Bedroom

Lefkothea Studios (we have two available)

These are modern, stylish and cool studios with the beach also right in front of you. Both of the apartments are on the ground floor with patio looking out onto the sea and a lovely lawn to sunbathe on if you don't fancy the beach (which is 10 metres away). Lovely cooking facilities and bathroom.

Lefkothea Studios Lefkothea Studios

Theo's Apartments (we have two available)

Two beautifully appointed and furnished first floor apartments  also right on the beach. With separate living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom - perfect if you are after amazing views, privacy and a touch of luxury (only one has the rocking chair, so book early....). These get booked up VERY early on.

The Courses

We aim to give you the opportunity to deepen your relationship with yourself with our courses.  When our attitude to ourselves changes, our worlds change!

We run 'An Introduction to Meditation' every week so that those without any meditation experience can understand the nuts and bolts - it's about half an hour. You don't need to convert to Buddhism and you don't need to take on any beliefs.

Our courses are mostly by donation - we suggest a donation of between £20 and £50 for the week, but it's really up to you and certainly not obligatory.  All courses take place over 3 or 4 mornings a week and are between 4 and 9 hours long in total.

The thing is that NONE of the courses are too all consuming so it won't feel like bootcamp and you get plenty of time to get on with the important business of relaxing.....

They are all about unblocking, freeing and liberating.  Our heart is, and always will be, in meditation and mindfulness and feeling free, which is why the 5 guided meditations and post meditation chats and teachings will always be free and the meditation courses are donation-based.

Please note: It is IMPOSSIBLE to do all the trips AND do a course and have a million massages... so why not come for two weeks?!

The exact timings and content of each course will depend largely on the group and your individual needs. We assess each group on its own merits so it’s pretty tricky to be specific here. We know you’re on holiday, though, so there will be plenty of time for sight seeing or lying in the sun or reading trashy novels (or Tolstoy - whatever floats your boat). We give a general overview of the kind of topics that we hope to cover when you click through to the links.

And just to repeat: please remember that it is IMPOSSIBLE to do all the trips, book massages and do a course. There just aren't enough hours in the day. If you like the look of everything, come for 2 weeks!
